    7.54kg with cages and pedals

  • I'm looking forward to better pics, how does it ride?

  • Is there a build spec?

Pretty light for a massive alloy bike!

  • That's an impressive weight for an alloy five bar gate.

  • Pretty amazing weight for the frame size ! Makes me wonder would be able to make a lighter bike out of 51cm frame :P

  • It still won't make you go faster.

  • You're thinking wrong ed, the whole point of lighter bike for me is to make it easy to carry 2 floors up

  • It still won't make you climb upstair faster.

  • It has with the chinese carbon bike and if i shed like 500 grams more i think i can be 10% more comfortable going up stairs, whatever speed I will gain is just a bonus. Its all about comfort; but you know better.

  • Holy saddle to bar drop Batman!

That has to be a record. How the hell do you managed to reach down to what looks like quite a low bottom bottle cage?

Really nice build that. Wish I had your flexibility.

But because it's a weekend bike, you're only going to bring it upstair and downstair twice (min).

    .

  • LOLed at that.

Long arms! (plus I'm pro) HA! It's not a comfort fit, but that's not what it's for.
Feels pretty quick to me! Couple of 50kmph blasts in regents this morning felt like a little less work than normal. Taking it for some hill repeats tonight to see what's up...

  • Nice build!

    Still haven't bought mine yet.

Was cabling it straightforward (does it come with internal inners for them?).

Easy peasy. The brake is routed with the fine white tube stuff. Gear cables don't even need that... just come out the bottom by the BB shell without any guide

  • Good work fella. If it rides as well as it looks then you've done well, but my god you're long.

  • Great..

Have you taken it out for a spin yet? Do tell how it rides! Better for sprints, downhills, uphills etc!

I'm still dilly-dallying - torn between this, or the new Canyon Roadlite AL 7.0 frame.

With the Rose I'd have it in the next couple of weeks, but would need to get a SRAM Force GXP crank fitted to it - Still not sure it's the best option for the crank?

With the Canyon, I'd have to wait until April. Canyon offer no crash replacement guarantee - but Rose do - 5 year crash replacement for half price. Don't tell the insurance company that!

Leaning in favour of the Rose.. Help me push the button (will a GXP Force Crank work?)

  • buy the rose! if have a similar one (xeon rs-4400), bought in march 2012, still love it (not the current status, this is how it was delivered):

  • What's your crank BB? Is it BB30?

I have the same one (Force) in GXP. Wondering if it'll be problematic to fit/problematic later.

    p.s. how does it ride!

  • @ShutUpLegs

It's not particularly problematic to install GXP on a BB30 frame, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

Though admittedly, a lot of the BB30-->GXP reducers are generally ordinary. There are some good ones out there. The market for secondhand cranks is normally pretty good because of the compatibility issues: why don't you put them up in classifieds and see whether anyone has the reverse issue (I.e. BB30 cranks GXP frame). In many respects you're at the advantage as your issue is not 'fatal' so to speak, whilst having a BB30 crank is just a flat out no-go in a GXP frame.

And if that doesn't work, fit it, ride it!

  • Another vote for the Rose. I have one (CRS) and it is simply superb.

  • Sweet.

Finally, I've placed the order... Rose will fit the BB for my crank - how nice are they! It turns out it's Shimano Press-fit btw..

  • Which crank?

  • SRAM Force Compact GXP.

They'll fit the right BB to fit the crank.

Going to load onto the frame a SRAM Red groupset. And keep it all black details. Wheels will be Aksium for now.
