Cheers for the suggestions guys, I've ordered a Dolan PC fixed with wheels that have the brake track. Was gonna go for a polo and bike CMDR also but the dolan looks better. What's the opinion on P&C bikes?

would you ride with miche pistard wheels on the road? There's a choice btwn these or a road/track version (miche x-press). I'm aware the pistard are fixed..

    Thanks fellas!

Hahah - silly me for even thinking it.

Couple of people have also suggested Polo and bike (CMDR), and/or also State Bicycle Co - their Contender?

I'm tempted with a Dolan or On One as these seem to be available within budget....

Guys I've never ridden a fixed gear bike and want to get one for shortish commutes. Ideally something cheapish but light (i.e aluminium) and with decent components (sub £500) and from a retailer that accepts cycle plus vouchers?

I've done a bit of reading and can see Mango bikes, BLB, 6KU all seem to offer models around the £300-£500 range.

Also one that will work as a freewheel/flipflop hub etc.

Any help/suggestions appreciated. No doubt this question has been asked before?!!?

I need a gilet for a week in Tenerife in July which I'll use to descend down the volcano a few times.

Ideally, I'd like to borrow one perhaps for a deposit - but that may be asking too much - if anyone has one going spare I'd buy it, but I don't want to spend a lot as it's not a piece of kit I don't think I'll really ever use, even in winter - I've got base layers and a jacket that's good enough...

    Welcome any suggestions...

    Thanks

    Joe
