Re: lining, I've a pair of cheapish Iron Ranger knockoffs from Hudson, and while the sole appears to be made of cheesecake base, the rest has held up pretty well, though they were cold. So I picked up a pair of cheap lambskin inner soles from ebay and it made a huge difference - no more cold seeping up through the ground, plus you can replace them when you like. Definitely recommend this rather than getting built-in liners.
