  • Anyone know where you can buy individual replacement Di2 cables in London?

  • tried the usual? Kinoko/condor/sigma? Last time I needed SD50 I did next day wiggle delivery, the only time I've ever paid wiggle for delivery /CSB

  • 2 wire or 4 wire Sparky?

I've got a whole box of 2 wire that you could have pretty much at once, just replace them.

4 wire (first gen Dura Ace Di2) unfortunately not.

  • Thanks for the offer. We tried Condor but no joy. He's over from the US - broke Di2 cable when we were in Alps. Think he's going to wait until he's back home to sort it now. He was grumbling that not many London shops seemed to stock the stuff yet.

  • Original Di2 cabling (7970) now seems very thin on the ground- anyone seen an internal rear wiring harness for sale anywhere?

  • another slap in the face for early adopters?

  • The cynical might certainly suggest that it is a way of persuading those of us with first gen kit to upgrade.

  • thinking about it even 6770 is going to be obsolete soon-ish .. I guess its the nature of electronic groupsets (or anything for that matter)

  • This was my reasoning for holding out for 2nd-gen DA. They said they'd be moving everything to CANbus so it made more sense to wait.

  • True. I'd like to get more use out of my 7970 though- it's far from dead.

  • Shimano are usually pretty decent with spares. I can't imagine them cutting off supplies this early in the game.

    obsolete now though..

  • It's on an old bike!

  • A classic.

  • A relic from the past

  • Didn't SRAM say they'd never do this?

  • Not quite. They did say 'using a battery to power an essential part of the experience just isn’t right. Or necessary. Especially because the real performance benefits of electronic shifting really don’t exist.'

I suppose they've changed their minds.

Steve Job specifically said that the iPod is for music only, and have no plan to play video with it.

I remember a while ago when SRAM were about to announce something (can't remember what it was now) and speculation was rife, Weight Weenies pundits were heavily backing the hydraulic shifting option as their "we'd like them to do this" option.

There is a German company- Arcos? Hmm, no- Acros which has proved the technology.

Might have been a more interesting route for them to have followed, given that they'll need to do something really impressive to catch up to Campag, let alone Shimano now.

  • They need to call it Sramtronix

  • I lol'd when scoble compared sram to steve jobs but have run out of rep to give him :(

Dont they still have to catch up on mechanical shifting?

  • They should make it wireless and give a sequential option. One button per lever with the ability to switch between sequential and regular doubletap.
