There is a league game at Hackney Downs at 11 today if you guys are interested in watching some serious games, throw ins thereafter so feel free to pop by.

Sooooo sooo close to having a bike finished, but not in time for tomorrow night.

6 of us are down there for a league game (45') - could stick around after that. (fancy time keeping?/keeping stats?)

I have the set of loaner mallets, will put them in my bag and pass them to Jackie tonight.

Up for polo tomorrow. Don't have a mallet or bike, so if its not poss, because of a lack of bikes, i'll probably still just pop down.

the game should not affect the beginners session.
Beginners session should be on as usual as long as there are enough people showing up fo the session. The thing that would probably affect the Beginner's session is the netball team (which leaves at 7ish anyway so the court is free then) - Ben is dealing with them.

So will there be enough people for a beginners session tonight. I am in if there are enough.

I will be there to speak to the netballers at about 5.30-6 but not staying beyond that.

My advice is to turn up but maybe not that early as one court would be used by netballers and the other by footballers. The league game will happen at about 7.30 or a bit later and players would be more than willing to arrange a throw in before or after games.

Watching the league game could be even a better experience for a beginner than a session knocking the ball around as there is plenty to learn such as observing how both set of players link up, the calls they make, how they defend/block and organise themselves both in attack and defence.

You could also assist them by volunteering to goal ref if you want to, the ref will brief you on your duties beforehand, you'll even get a free beer (or two) for your time!

Also might be worth seeing westway who all started only slightly over a year ago.

I spoke to 2 of the organisers whose name I could not remembered and we agreed on a compromise. They will try to start at 5 and we will start at 7. They noticed you guys waiting for the court the last time around and appreciate the fact that it's a non issue of them using the courts. Nice group of peeps, just like us, volunteering time and putting the commitment into an activity they enjoy. They have a winter league too! Netball soon perhaps? ;)

Beagle, if those netballers are from KCL, they have their own dedicated sports grounds, only available to students. They shouldnt be using Newington.

They should be at Paris Gardens...
