I assume, however, that those who are banned can pull their Huggies back up, and join again under a different name, but within the confines of the minimal rules that exist here.
Spammers etc... will still be banned, but those that want to seel their sweetfixie still have the opportunity to do so, if they stop their selling elsewhere.

Velocio,
You have made your point clearly. I have made mine. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Scilly Suffolk - i would argue that i am a troll (having checked what a troll is).

Pretty much.
They are banned, it's a slap on the wrist to follow the rules that exist.
They are not prohibited from creating another profile and trying again having read the rules.
That said... the rules do state that we ban the person and not the account, but I'm far more forgiving and generally let people come back if they show they can behave.
I leave it to the individual to demonstrate when that isn't the case.

Not from RB, and please quit the "us and them", it's just indulging the idiot who thinks such divisions exist.
She emailed:
Hi LFGSS Team,
I've just joined your community, but not able to write in the Forum yet.
Could you please enlighten me about the Threads posting process?
Thanks,
Best wishes,
E.To which I replied:
Hey Eleonora,
We have a nursery period to prevent spam, and to prevent people being burned by asking questions that have been answered before, etc.
https://www.lfgss.com/thread9350.html
If you need to circumvent the nursery just let me know why... pretty much any reason is fine except for starting a classifieds advert.
Cheers
David
Generally people who email and ask are never a problem, and even though I strongly suspected she was going to start an advert, I figured I would let her as it's extremely rare that we have issues from someone who has read the nursery rules post and knows to email me.

OK, thanks.

We could give the football thread its tags back...
A good idea for once James.

Yes, why can polo have tags but not football? Sportism
(Old argument no doubt) -

Yes, why can polo have tags but not cycling?
Does seem odd.

Nothing to do with fairness, this place is all about being in the right clique or face being marginalised. The footy thread is not part of a clique so does not get a voice on this forum whereas those toffee nose champagne swilling polo set get all the tags and attention.

Excellent, I didn't know they'd started a polo team.

I was about to say that polo players are lovely and have never used tags to bring the server down, whilst most football fans are cunts, but this one picture blows that theory out the water.
I don't remembeer football thread members using tags to bring servers down.

Yeah I realised after posting, that in fact one of the culprits was an ex-polo player who I think dislikes football...
But all the same, polo is a small community who don't really start fights or sling insults (at least not to the point of offending people outside the community), whereas the football thread has been home to some of the most offensive posts and tags on the forum.
I agree with you (TGR) btw... that banning on nursery and classifieds indiscretions is probably harsh.
But... I have edited my post to try and explain why we're harsh with those two things. And it's basically because those two things tend to be good indicators about whether someone will be a hassle in the long-run.
This goes some way to explain why moderating those two things is more harsh than moderating most things (which tends to be far more forgiving).
