Texting While Driving - On the phone drivers!

Does anyone reckon that it's worth starting a gallery of drivers on the phone? Partly as a name-and-shame, but also as a more general campaign to show just how common it is. If you think it would be just too big it could be subdivided or restricted just to liveried vehicles i.e., professional drivers who should know better, or particularly heinous examples e.g., people on the phone driving past schools.

I wanted to start something like this ages ago, but never really got round to it.

The other issue is that it may well antagonise a drivers who already see cyclists as a menace to society.

What's it got to do with cyclists? I see these tossers whilst I'm driving, or passengering.

If a cyclist takes a photo of a driver on the phone then the driver might get a bit worked up.

I see plenty when I'm walking and driving, taking a photo whilst driving might be just as bad though it's fair game when I'm passengererering

i have recently started winding my van window down and yelling at phone-drivers. it's a good way of venting one's spleen, and hopefully embarrasing them into changing their ways.

on another, similar theme, I am considering making a sign to hold up to speeding drivers. something like "IT'S 30mph HERE YOU CUNT"

also, I'm considering making a thin wire to scratch cars that drive too close. it may not change their ways, but it will please me

I think it would be a good idea, it could show people that the problem is still there. I swear most officials think the law was passed and everyone stopped.

It didn't, I looked into a way of grassing to Greater Manchester 5-0 but there didn't seem to be an obvious way without calling them, which I couldn't be arsed with.

Surprise there weren't a topic about this.

It seemed that the police/general public treat the whole thing as seriously as the ASL nowadays. Especially with the bigger smartphone, it become more obvious when the day get shorter.

It's harder with a smartphone, the old Nokia with the clicky buttons was so much easier. Man, I could roll a doob with one hand, bash out a text with the other and still steer with my knee.

Do we need a thread for it? What purpose does it serve? It's not like there's any argument for texting whilst driving and calling drivers out will happen anyway in the other existing threads. #getreadyformerge
