Towards the end, crossing the A505 at that roundabout could be a bit grim. It's a dual carriageway both ways and is always busy.
There's a better crossing further east from Moorfield Rd over to Duxford Rd which has a proper bike friendly central island.
So maybe:
Cross M11, left onto Duxford Road Follow right on to St Peter's St Cross A505 on to Duxford Road
Then the two routes join again after this at Shelford Road
I'd always choose that way.
