Can you see all your contacts through gmail? If not you probably didn't change the S3s default which is to save them to the samsung account, probably worth exporting them from that and then into google, so they know everything about you.

Yep, although using the superbackup utility I had 500 and something contacts and gmail's only got 370 or so. All with numbers etc and can't spot which ones are missing.
