• About 18 months ago I changed jobs and started to commute by car. It's been a real eye opener to how visible cyclists are in the dark. It amazes me how a dim light gets lost in the headlights of cars and the street lights. With all the will in the world it can be really hard to spot riders coming up a cycle lane, especially when it rains.

The single thing that makes you easy to see in some ones mirrors is a bright, flashing light. You pick it up in your peripheral vision. Even if I can't tell where you are or what you are doing I know you are there and can drive accordingly.

I'm looking forward to changing jobs and getting on my bike again.
