• This is unbelievable. I am truly lost for words. thoughts go out to the families.

People be safe and vigilant out there.

  • Terrible terrible news.

  • such sad news. Seems like every time I come on here or read the news there's another death.

    Ride safe everyone

  • what the fuck, unbelievable!

such awful news, thoughts with friends and family

    RIP rider

  • Heartbreaking news, RIP rider.

  • I'm sick of beta testing TFL cycle policy with my body.

A truly tragic 8 days. RiP riders. Stay safe out there folk.

  • horrible.

    thoughts out to family.

  • This is awful, and unbelievable. RIP

  • Oh god. I thought this was a mistake when I saw this thread and related to either the Commercial St incident or the Mile End fatality. Terrible to see that's not the case.

That junction is next to my office, I ride through it every day. It's the same spot at the July fatality involving the Boris Bike rider. Without wanting to bring any speculation as to what happened into this thread, it's a hideous spot; so many drivers turn left without indicating/paying any attention.

RIP; thoughts are with friends and family.

  • How can this be allowed to continue? It's a disgrace for all of us, and this is a tragedy for all the poor cyclist's friends and family. RIP.

  • really sad news.

thoughts and prayers for the rider, family and friends.

  • I feel sick.
    This is just unbelievable.
    Why is this happening ?

Is this not the same road, that the girl was hit by a car 2 days ago and passers by moved the car off of her ?

Thoughts to the riders family and friends.
    May you RIP.

This needs to stop. Please ride safe everyone.

  • Is this not the same road, that the girl was hit by a car 2 days ago and passers by moved the car off of her ?

Yes, though the Aldgate end - the other incident happened by Spitalfields.

  • Terrible, sad and depressing news.

    RIP rider.

Please everyone take extra care out there.

  • Intolerable. RIP Riders.

    Ride safe.

  • an article with some good points, many of which are made in the comments.

  • Sickening news. RIP rider.

  • Horrible news. Actually unbelievable. Sympathies to the friends and family of this rider. Such a waste of life.

Look out for each other people and ride safe.

  • Horrible, horrible news. These roads were poor for cycling to start with, the Superhighway didn't do enough about the conflicts.
    RIP.

  • I rode past this at around the same time as the OP. Sickening, saddening, sobering. All too close to home. All one to many.

My thought are with all who cared for him.

  • I use this junction everyday, not good.

  • It's simply insane. There's also the rider in the crash on Millbank who is said to have life-threatening injuries. I mean, 33 people died while riding bikes in London in 1989, but this could well be the single worst week ever.

My heart goes out to those who knew the victim.

  • So many in such a short space of time. RIP. Condolences to all who knew them.

  • RIP rider x

I'm out of town at the moment and have just checked back in to see what's been happening. What on earth is going on out there? I feel sick.

Please take care all of you.

  • Incredible. Regardless of blame or circumstances which no doubt differ across incidents, shameful numbers of people are now regularly being killed on public roads. Nothing suggests a terrible week like this won't happen again either. The powers that be have to face up to this now with action of some appropriate kind, or accept ongoing levels of tragedy.
