  • Anyone think a cycling shoe should be made with no ventilation?

I have trainers with a shell front toe cap and during a very wet day I was surprised to find my socks and inside or shoe bone dry. Got me thinking most water gets in from the vents/mesh on the front of the shoe. If the top of the shoe was a shell type material they would be a little warmer and more waterproof.

Could be marketed as a autumn/winter shoe, might add a little more weight but would take that for more comfort.

Northwave, Shimano and Sidi both make really good winter road shoes/boots and a lot of people switch to MTB shoes and SPDs for winter cycling.
