Is the ultra miami festival an under age festival, everyone looks far too sober.

Did anyone get Glastonbury tickets?
-
• #279
no, the annual hour and a half of refreshing screens accompanied by condescending tweets telling me how many they are selling a minute and apologies for the technical difficulties!

Glastonbury is a total ripoff for clueless cunts... particularly clueless cunts with tickets. I hate you all!

in the good old days you could just follow scousers over the fence
it's like a category a prison these days

Did you see it happen? I've found lots of hearsay and rumours about it, but no pics or footage. Maybe Google Fu has let me down, or it could be an urban legend? In any event, that would be insanely cool, and actually I could probably do that, parachute in at night at least... Never tried them propelled thingies, but getting out wouldn't be a problem anyway.

...also barry1987 nerged.

Yup we were camping by the stone circle field and saw both landing & takeoff. It was the year Paul Macartney headlined, at the same time zero 7 played an awesome set elsewhere... 2004 I think.

^ 2004 = pre smart phone and everyone videoing everything. #thegoodolddays

Just a thought. you can tell which festivals are the biggest rip offs by seeing what they do for their own paying punters out of the goodness of their own hearts.
Do they have more porta-loos than the minimum legal requirement per 1000 customers, do they provide more medical expertise than the legal requirement per 1000 customers, can they be arsed to provide more running water than the 1 tap per 1000 customers, do they provide welfare, drugs advice, sexual health services.
Just sayin, its mostly about parting you from your cash in ever more inventive ways.

After watching this, not sure whether to laugh or cry

Despite what the US has done and continues to do for House- they are still waaaaay off point when it comes to 'getting it'. You know what's up when you hear that dreaded term EDM (electronic dance music). Anywhere where the dj has his/her hands in the air for more than 3 tracks in a set = GASH!

When I went to The Miami Winter Music Conference a few years ago, the Yanks no way 'got it'. It was pretty cringing/ funny.

the high cost of festivals
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/may/19/music-festival-prices-latitude-glastonbury-cheap
Taking place on 17-20 July, the Latitude Festival in Suffolk – dubbed by some "the summer's most middle-class festival" – is now in its ninth year. The line-up is good – this year's headliners are Two Door Cinema Club, Damon Albarn and The Black Keys – and the vibe is great, but you couldn't argue that it's cheap: weekend tickets are £187.50 a pop (or around £202 once you add in the fees). That's almost double the £95 face value people paid to attend the first Latitude in 2006, and compares with the £155 charged just four years ago. If the price of that £95 ticket had risen in line with inflation, it should cost between £117 and £124, depending on which online inflation calculator you use.

surely you'd track it against the inflation rates of the drugs market not bank of england.

My in-laws live about 20 minutes down the road and so the wife was very keen to go (me less so) and when I saw the price of it this year completely ruled it out. I can rent a 2 bed villa with a pool in Spain or Turkey for the same price.

Wow - at least at Glastonbury you can carry your wine and cider into the arena. I went to Latitude (never again) in about 2007 and was subjected to a bag search every 30 minutes.
He was probably doing Etape Wales with his roadie chums.
