  • There may be trouble ahead...

Not that I really think anyone would be DQed because of a tiny disc of aluminium.

  • That's just an agenda proposal from some troublemaker, it won't get the majority required to be made law.

  • I don't think it will either. These headset covers are a good example of why it shouldn't.

I think its fair to say the CTT rule makers have more sense than their UCI equivalents.

  • I was reading that thinking. 'high end OTPs dont come with pedals. Cyclings about to become a shit load more difficult*

  • These headset covers are a good example of why it shouldn't.

These headset covers would comply with the regulation if passed in this form

  • Tester, bit of help please, I'm picking up a caad8 r900 at the end of the month and want to grab a slam that stem cover, I'm aware that the remainders will probably be gone by then so need a bit of help, would either of the above two fit? The 46/2 looks like it might bearing in mind that there were some caad10's that had 47/2 and caad8's are general slimmer walled??? I honestly am guessing here so any help would be appreciated

  • mdcc. received mine, cheers!

According to http://metallicpoutine.com/shop/headset-bearing-cover-caad10/ the 47mm diameter fits 2011+ CAAD8s. If you take the 46, it will overlap the head tube face but not reach right to the edge.

  • Recieved mine last night. Installed it only to find around 1mm of gap, due to a 'proud' headset top ring. Figured, as I have a used spare lying around, I'd file off 0.8mm or so. It now fits perfectly. Just need to chop down my steerer some more now.

    Awesome work mdcc_tester!
