  • Looks a bit small ;)

  • Rep'd

  • Just dropped the wheels off with Guy at Harry Halls. Should be built by Tuesday next week.

  • A little teaser while I wait for the wheels to be built and for my headset pressing mate to have some free time.

  • Progress...

  • Also, my first paint chip. I guess I can stop being so precious about it now. Not even built yet haha.

  • Got a little more done today, not sold on the bars yet, I have some risers too so im gonna try both out and see which I prefer.

  • Liking this, the Pomp has a few MTB details so I think the forks and bars suit it.
Omniums strike me as an odd choice though, you could probably have got a lighter more versatile chainset for similar money (Force carbon double etc).

  • Yeah, I got a little excited and felt a bit flush. #hhsb

  • I've just had a call from my wheel builder saying that they are ready to be picked up.

I cant grab them until Saturday and then I'm busy all weekend but I should hopefully have this up and running by the middle of next week. #excite

  • you fancy pink bar tape / grips ?

  • I thought about it but decided it would be a bit too much, I've got two sets of black grips sat at home already.

  • Things left to do:

-chop bars down + add grips
    -install disc brake

    • fit mudguards (or convince someone else to do it as I really don't have the patience)

EDIT: Will slam rear wheel as much as possible once mudguards are fitted.

  • P.S the camera on my phone is gash.

  • Maybe not chop them that much? Wider bars are more comfortable and gives you more balance while riding.

As for installing mudguards and assuming that you are going to drill the rear guard to fasten at the bottom of the seat stay, start by bolting the chain stay one, slide wheel into position and check for clearance. Fasten the bolts on the dropouts once you get the clearance right, then mark where you need to drill the mudguard.

Yeah only chopping about an inch off each side, they are just slightly too wide for getting in and out of my house with ease at the moment.

As for mudguards I think that will be the plan yeah.

  • Widen doorway.

  • The P2s look sweet. You don't have too much seat post showing either, so not a bad size frame!

Yeah I'm glad I went for this size in the end, it seems to fit me pretty well.

  • Yeah I'm really impressed with how the P2s looks... I have a pair at home, maybe one day I'll SSCX...

  • Good to see that those P2s worked out for you. Gotta say they probably look a little better on your Pomp than they do on my Pre Cursa, especially with the bigger tyres you're running. Looks good!

  • ^ cheers man :D

For sure! I'd go for a large as I'm 6 foot tall, but that said at the moment I'm riding a bike with about 35cm of seatpost showing (frame is tiny!). Love the build, if it were mine I'd probably use different bars, a sleeker saddle and non clipping pedals, apart from that it's awesome (and obviously those parts are just my taste).

  • Should.Not.Have.Sold.P2s. :""(

  • I'm not super keen on the bars either but I've ran out of money for this so they'll have to do for now.
