Definitely Italian then. Phew, not difficult to find them at all, tempted to build it up with a Campag groupset.
Still interested in finding out what model the frame actually is, I've seen a few similar online but non identical....

Hi,
I have an ex competition frame from Frank Van Impe, father of Kevin and brother of Lucien. It has conti decals but i think it's a Sannino. Probably he was obliged to ride with Conti :).
Question is dus anybody know which Sannino ? The frame weighs +- 1954gr (kitchen balance) the fork 693. Probably SL or not ? It should be from around 85-86-87. Any value ? I intend to repaint it in red and Sannino decalshttp://imageshack.us/a/img811/2374/3loh.jpg

Columbus transfer on the seat tube looks to be SL. Check the diameter of the seatpost you have got in there, 27.2mm should confirm the tubing as being SL plus it is a pro frame.
Are you sure you want to paint it? It looks good as it is. -

So you should leave it as it is ? Any value ? I still have a super record group to build on itThis is also nice ...

I believe late 70's early 80's Columbus decals were not marked SL.
I would personally leave the paint as it is as it is a nice colour scheme and also original appears to be and it will only be original once. It has more value as it is than re sprayed. But at the end of the day it's what you like.
I'm not sure about the value so somebody more knowledgeable can add to this. -

Hi, Abiggersplash
possibly you are still interested in meaning the numbers stamped on the BB below logo Nervex. This is information about parameters of BB, based on the numbers you posted.
590306222E66
59°30’ –the angel between down tube and seat tube
62°- the angel between seat tube and chain stays
22 mm – diameter of bores for chain stays
E - a distance between centers of bores for chain stays.
This bottom bracket has Nervex reference number 3102 or 3103 depends of what is real parameter for E 35 mm or 38 mm.
The correct reading is Nervex 59°3062°22E35 or E38
This BB has to have French threading – right hand both sides. Key moment for ID the frame is the form factor of the seat cluster - closed ends of the seatstays. Check diameter of tubing. It has to be metric. If it is metric the frame was made in France in the end of 60-s. From this point we need more info about frame.

Possibly a Cornelo?
From here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread116491.html
I could do with a bit of ID help.
I know it is not a Colnago as the 'Clover' on the BB seems odd and the lugs are different. also no stamps on the forks.
Any idea?
It looks like it was originally pale green and has been repainted silver at some stage. The frame stickers are post respray and do not help identifying the frame.
Cheers
Vince

It looks a lot like it - thanks very much for this, I will do more research on that brand.
It looks like it is going to be either:
Cornelo
or
Colner

Hello everybody,
I received a vintage Superia from my father in law. So far so good. But the bike was given to him by a former co-sponsor of the Solo-Superia Team and allegedly it belonged to a racer from around that era. I say ‘allegedly’, as I cannot find anyone intimately familiar with Superia bikes. I know a few things about the company Superia, as I was in contact with a researcher at the Wielermuseum in Roeselare (my wife’s Belgian so I am down there occasionally), but I only recently received the bike back from the gentleman restoring the frame so this is my first opportunity to show it to anyone.
The bike came fitted with Nuovo Record, drilled chain blades, campagnolo pedals and head set, a set of tubular tyres, everything really. And then these were the oddities: the writing on the down tube was a sticker that had been applied afterwards (i.e. could have been taken off easily) and the frame does not feature a serial number. So – that’s it for now. I started to speculate what all this could mean, but I don’t find any sources that point me towards reliable proof. Essentially I am looking for context and maybe a bit of history of this bicycle. Any hint is much appreciated.

No info on Superia, but you might find these scans from the Ishiwata catalogue interesting.

You're welcome.
I've just bought an Ishiwata tubed Ellis-Briggs, which is why it caught my eye.
It seems that they made good steel, but lacking the cachet of Reynolds or Columbus, it usually ended up specced for lower-end bikes, because buyers wanted a "name" if they were paying good money.
Being specced on lower-end bikes, it gained an unfair reputation for being lower-end steel and so on, and so forth.
The collapse of the Yen was the last straw and they made their last tubes at the end of the Eighties.
Mine was built in 1990, so must be one of the last Ishys!

Hello Scilly Suffolk,
I had read an article about Ishiwata on Sheldon Brown’s site. He’s speaking highly of their tubing. In a conversation with a Belgian cycling friend (and vintage bike afficionado) we discussed the possibility of stronger tubing being used for tougher races, such as the cobbled classics, hence the 022 being used for a possibly ‘made-to-measure’ frame (as no serial number and a logo that’s slapped on after the painting of the frame suggest). This however is speculation so I am looking for an expert in such issues. Many thanks once more.

Can anyone tell me what tyres are on this cannondale?
The description says Vittoria but the image shows something about Germany.
Are these as described or are they something else?http://velospace.org/node/41718
Thanks

I bought this beater a week ago because the frame was so enormous, but I'm having trouble finding any information on the manufacturer. I doubt that it is Spectrum cycles in America, as they seem to make high-end custom frames.

With Italian bb's both cups are right hand threaded.
