  • It's a pretty offensive starting position. We (my band) have just been offered a five date tour supporting an act who are on the verge of doing very well for themselves but we've been told there's no money. It's quite painful being told that, although we want you to take time off your jobs and traipse around the country with us, you're not worth paying even a token fee. It's not like it's small shows either. Time to start preparing merch and hope we don't lose too much money overall.

    Man that's not right, they should know how it feels to have to scramble for cash... Hope you can get your money back.

    It may give you new gigs, but you'd think they can at least pay expenses.

    Le Manfriend plays in a band locally and he enjoys it but he's got a dayjob on the side. Restaurant generally don't pay well, £200 for 3 hours sounds great, but then they want a 4 piece band, so that's £50 a head, you need to get a van for the instruments, or taxis and it all adds up.
