It's a pretty offensive starting position. We (my band) have just been offered a five date tour supporting an act who are on the verge of doing very well for themselves but we've been told there's no money. It's quite painful being told that, although we want you to take time off your jobs and traipse around the country with us, you're not worth paying even a token fee. It's not like it's small shows either. Time to start preparing merch and hope we don't lose too much money overall.
