I've got a trashed post-1995 Record mech I've been keeping for spares. It's a 5mm Allen head bolt with a washer and plate: I've just checked my Chorus mech and they are identical.
Is yours 2nd Gen Chorus ('92-'94) or post-1995?

This is looking pretty awesome, do let us know how you get on with the Tektro HY/RD once you get them bedded in.

So, these arrived this morning, nearly nos, thinking overkill for a pub bike... also thinking of putting my pub bike on ebay at a "collectors" price as I have completely over done it, is that such a bad thing to do? -
• #84889
Would be nice to see the bike.
-
• #84890
It's on here somewhere... ex FCI Viner Pista, pretty much full Gipiemme Special Pista apart from C Record cranks... it's been a fun build but totes overkill.

Keep if for Sunday and buy a proper pub bike from a police auction for £10
-
• #84892
I did that with my last bike, and now I have 2 Sunday bikes... argh.
Police auction for an old 90's MTB could be a good plan though. -

It's happening, just bought a 57cm Pass Hunter, Longstaff sale thread will be up shortly...
Currently reading about cantilever brakes, don't really know a great deal currently, differences between wide and narrow set-ups, brake cable routing etc
Seriously considering selling the Longstaff frame and moving all my parts over to a VeloOrange Pass Hunter when they come out.
Currently details are sparse, apart from geometry and some pictures of prototype frames. Not much about type of steel/price etc,
The info so far sounds fantastic though

seattube looks a bit slacker.. should be good...

a bit is putting it mildly!

Incidentally the Pass Hunter in the photo is a 57cm.
Good choice of size, the lower BB, and slacker seat tube mean the component swap will be direct, the only difference is that you need an in-line seatpost with the Pass Hunter, especially with those Selle Anatomica saddle.
Time to make a new project thread?
-
• #84898
I don't think he'll need an inline post.. look how far back the saddle is on the Longstaff

The Longstaff have a 76 degree seat tube.
The Velo Orange Pass Hunter have a 72.5 degree seat tube.
Reckon you can see where I'm going with this.
