So...is the Pro Team Jacket very similar to the old 'Lightweight Softshell' from '08?
http://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/rapha-lightweight-softshell-jacket.html
But maybe a bit more race-cut?

are you able to race in a team skinsuit which you're not part of?
-
• #14154
Thanks Mr Bear! Bidding is near £100, so hard to find a nice skinsuit, may have to keep soldiering on with the bidding.....
Castelli bodypaint Best one out there.
Far better than a Rapha one.
If I could race in one I would.http://www.wiggle.co.uk/castelli-body-paint-20-speed-suit-2/
The seems to be sold out though. End of season I guess.

I am unsure, I would only use it for the odd PB attempt and some track league level racing at the mo. National level perhaps there are some rules applying to this?

I think once your out of 4th Cat your not meant to wear team kit your not part off. So either blank, your club or team
I would be very surprised if they didn't let you ride at the track league for wearing team kit your not part off.

PTJ = pro team jacket or pro team jersey?
Depends on the season.
Right now its jacket ;-) -

I am in love with my PTJ, was freezing the first 15 minutes due to it's not being that wind resistant, but afterward nice and toasty even with a thin cycling jersey.

Actually he was referring to his Pro Team Jim-Jams that he wears to bed.
-
• #14169
To be honest i'd wear it everywhere costing as much as it does!

As opposed to his 'classic' jim-jams. The Pro team Jim-jams are more closer fitting, and breathable for faster pace..........
Just submitted my Xmas list. Mainly its a power2max (if I can save to pay most of it out of my own bike budget). But amoungst the rapha stuff was a winter jersey, and a hi-viz gilet. Much as this thread has been a PTJ worship fest. I figure I'll get more mileage out of this combo (plus windjacket). But then I've never been one for dressing to keep the rain out. More dressing to still be warm once wet.

It's all about the winter jersey this year…

Anyone here got the rain jacket?
I got one of last year's range second hand from a kind gent on here, and only used it in light showers for commuting so far.
However, i'm supposed to be going out on a long ride tomorrow in what looks like it could be really shite weather, and wanna know just how cold / wet I may get...
-
• #14174
They seal the heat in very effectively, and are totally wind-proof, so as long as you are moving I reckon you'll be ok.
Stand still for a while and you will get very cold.

I find that it's not quite breathable enough for me but I always stay comfortable in it.
