To add to the confusion I grew up in Forest Hill, now live in de beauvoir town and am moving to Hargingey green lanes (if the sale goes through).
Forest Hill is nice-ish but never felt like London to me and there was a distinct lack of anything 'going on' maybe its changed by now. I'd stay in de beauvoir town if I could afford it but a 2 bed period flat on my road just went for over 1.2 million...Green lanes is not ideal but at least it gives me easy access to my friends and where I like to hang out.
