In other news our jaunt on Tuesday was .1 mph slower than the season opener.
I reckon we can file that .1 under tolerances.
Hooray for consistency

I blame the mouse.
In more other news my rear rim exploded last night. Shards of metal went everywhere and the inner tube flew out and got wrapped around the hub, prompting me to do a large involuntary skid. All in all, I'm fucking delighted I was only 2 miles from home, with no one behind me, at the time. If that had happened on Tuesday on one of those wet and leafy descents it could have been really sketchy.

Yeah, I think I've eaten at that curry house too, must have been the poppadoms.

Shit! Hope everything ok (except the rim of course)

other news...
Sounds like the badgers found you and sabbotaged your bike. Evil bastards, never trust them.

good work lads. Wish I could have been out a little more on the late season ones. This fatherhood malarkey really puts a dampener on your social life.

prompted actual LoL.

Post season piss up anyone?
.

• #1834
+1 to a post season piss up. I have many thanks to spread around for all the well-led rides and I'm sure I owe a few people beers.
It seems like it was a funny season of TNRC but I really had a great time and it's been some of the best riding of my life. Take that for what you will but I think the second Roydon ride and Ingatestone were just fucking stunning. Anyway if I keep going I'm bound to get sentimental so maybe do me a favour and let's meet up in the pub and I'll buy you some beers.

Ladies and gents. I case you were wondering where I got to in the second half of the season (and most of the first half) injury stopped play after Dunwich.
Bike riding has been curtailed, hence my general absence from this parish for some weeks now but I'm still looking to get back to riding before the year's out. Not that I'm sure anyone's noticed ;).
Thanks to those who organised these rides - Des, Ramaye...I'm sure many others and thanks to those I've met this year - Tim, Dan, Jim, Alex, Howard, Matt erm...probably more.
Yours until next season, or a pissup, if I can make it,
Mike (the slow gangly guy on a blue pompino).

In the unlikely event that anyone fancies a wintry ride tomorrow evening, that is inconveniently timed to preclude anyone from getting the train out, bitterbuffalo and myself will be riding the Potters Bar route (yes, again!).
The plan is to meet outside the Green Man pub @ 7pm, do the loop, then nip back towards Finsbury Park in time for a pint before about 21:30.

If anyone can be at the top of Muswell Hill for six fifteen, I'm happy to lead out to the green man.

Ah wut, is it all over? I'm just putting together an order for a winter bike. Just need All City to confirm i can wrap 29s around their new Macho Man Disc frame. I'll be doing the tour of wessex, the hell of the Ashdown and, of course, a splinter deluxe or two...
See you on the blacktop in 2014 ladies and gentlemen.

I only have crotchless lycra. Does that count?
Well they will want to fix that pothole on the Epping Road before then.
