  • The thing about the UK is it's a couple of small islands so we get a lot of weather - proper cold can be a lot more comfortable than when it is in low single figures in the UK as it is invariably wet and windy with it.

    Possibly not the most extreme low temps but as an example; a friend from Durango Co. was offered a job in Edinburgh when we finished our MSc course but turned it down as he couldn't face a second Scottish winter.

    Are the seams inside the thumb on neoprene gloves comfortable when riding on the hoods? My only reservation about getting a pair.

    Wouldn't know about riding them with hoods since I only use them at -15c. or below.. At that point I'm riding my 29er.
    They're not the most comfortable so for long rides I'd probably go for something else.

    Merino liner gloves are great and if you can fit those inside your gloves (or then buy gloves for winter which do fit them inside), they add a layer of warmth.
