  • When is it? Gonna do it on that folder/shopper? :0)

May 17th. I might do it on my folder.

  • Anybody else doing the Upper Thames 200 ride around Oxford on Saturday?

Was considering it but will probably give it a miss, really nice ride but cba for the early start >.<

    Have fun!

    Confirmed entry- Poor Student. January.

Will be riding one of the geekhouses probably, though maybe cannondale- depends on conditions.

    This is also tempting.

  • The Poor Student is a punchy little number. No major climbs but some bits of the Cotswolds can be a bit of an effort. Can be tricky if the weather has been bad before hand or is icy on the day. There's a few bits of road that don't get any direct daylight at that time of year. Best done with mudguards and expect to wash the bike afterwards.

Upper Thames was a brute this year - the wind was very strong through the afternoon. Half killed me.

  • A little something to tempt people in the the off-season* http://www.sverigetempot.se/index_en.html

*OK, technically Audax has no off season, just some months when there are fewer events.

    Sydney to Melbourne 1200 tracker.

  • Have entered the Poor Student. Might do Watership Down again, for old times' sake. Any other recommendations for the new year?

  • Is Watership Down an audax event?

  • Wooo! Poor Student ftw!

  • ^^ Do you mean 'is something as short as 100k really classed as an audax'? I dunno - but it's on the audax calendar.

  • ^^ Yup. I shall have new, shiny (well beaded finish) bike by then (and probably panniers and a flask, if my descent into audax-dom continues at this pace). See you there!

  • Ed doesn't class an event as an audax unless it's at least 5000 miles with only 2 short naps along the way.

  • You up for Watership Down again, B?

    Dorset Coast 200 13 April :)

  • OK - will bear in mind!

  • I might well be up for Watership Down again, I was thinking about it the other week while flicking through Arrivé and thinking that we never did do the summer rerun.

  • Nice one - will bung an entry in.

He's lied to you. I know for a fact that he did a short and fairly trivial 1400k event this year.

  • Hackney GT river ride this Saturday, it also coincides with Audax Club Hackney's 'AGM' in the evening - all details are in this thread -

    https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=eubdns4anfc7vfmg47j3hussd3&topic=77937.0

The connection between the two is that Hackney GT made the jerseys for Audax Club Hackney...

  • What sort of brevet do you have for the AGM? Does it count towards a Super Rassembleur series?

I didn't know Russ had opened a pop-up shop, I'll pop down to see him. We had a chat at the BFF opening party recently.

  • Just got in for the Poor Student, will have to double check with Watership Down due to work timetable, even if it's a 100k, I prefer to do it with like minded cretins ON HERE such as Boffy for example.

  • Ed, this ^ are original hipsters not students.

It'll be one that requires a handful of receipts from the nearest bar to be validated.
