3x1hr swims in Folkestone this weekend, nature gave us a bit of a showcase - really different conditions every time.
Sat am - flat calm, sunny, high tide.
Sat pm - got in as the storm hit, really hard to swim, strange type of heavy chop, waves coming from all angles, proper graft.
Sun am - very high tide, still v windy, but proper rollers/breakers, much easier to swim in, immense fun.
Still reckon the water temp is about 15 degrees, so feeling it a little after an hour. Swimming in pools >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Also, at the Channel Swimming Association's awards dinner Sat eve, my mate won the trophy for greatest feat of endurance for his early crossing this year - the longest crossing ever done in temp that low (22hrs) - delighted for him.
