It was available from DealExtreme but they're out of stock now.
You can get 1600 lumen lights which use the Cree XM-L T6 diode for £30-40 from dx.com. That's above the £18 VAT threshold but it'll take a month unless you want £20 express deliver... but that's still half the price of On One's item, and it probably from the same factory anyway. -

I forgot my Exposure Diablo today- it's at home, charging, which is not terribly useful to me right now, so I bought a Moon Crescent as an emergency front light.
Mother of God is this thing bright on it's highest setting- should be fine for city riding.

http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/LISMRTR2/smart_lunar__rear_led_bike_light£25 with Wiggle
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/smart-lunar-r2-rear-light/Just put an order in as my rear knog is on its way out. LEDs are fine but the switch that changes modes seems to be getting more and more tempermental

The Smart Lunar R2 is always on offer at On-One and apart from being hard to open to install batteries is a seriously good light. I have two now and my kids one each. Thoroughly recommended. The light that is, not kids.

What's the mount like? I just bought 3 of the £2-3 ones cos I always break the mount on rear lights.

it's fine, fairy standard black loop, then the light itself has a clip on the back. Handily it comes with two loops, one seatpost diameter and one chainstay diameter

I'm looking for a spare mount for the Smart light? Where did you get the spares from?

Ok, I am confused between a helmet mount set up or handlebar mount for exposure.
I know it doesent matter for the front light as they come with both mounts but I was going to get the short cable red eye set up for the rear light, if I have to go with handlebar mount set up the short cable red eye will be useless.
Which set up should I go with? I have never used a light to see the road always used lights to be seen by others. So I dont know which works better. The typical usage will be after hour Richmond laps or country lanes or something; similar to TNRC.

I have a diablo with short red eye on the helmet and maxx D mounted on the bars with a long red eye mounted on the seatpost. I don't think a joystick running with a redeye connected will last that long with the front on decent brightness.

^ fair enough, I dont mind going up ladder and get a light that will last.
But my question is which set up? No way I can spend that much dorrah atm (i.e. 2 lights). I can live with short red eye helmet set up, in terms of road (and overall) visibility how does helmet setup compare with handlebar mount?

Handlebar mount every time.
-
• #2993
Yeah thats what I thought, but lot of shop ppl told me helmet mount is good if you want overall visibility (road and otherwise). Maybe they were referring to MTB-ing ..

I've got a Diablo, tried it on the helmet but much preferred it on the bars, would possibly use a helmet mounted Joystick with the Diablo on the bars though, if in the countryside at night.

I prefer the helmet mount if the route is anyway twisty - lights up where you want to go rather than the way the bike is pointing. I think you need a reasonably powerful light though and it also gives you the option of looking at drivers to make sure theyve seen you, useful if you are passing parked cars.

Anyone know where you can get replacement rubber straps for the moon lights? Mine have died. Light is still going strong, but having trouble fixing it to the bike.

Bar-mounted flood lens.
Head mounted spots, one each side for MTB and taxi-runs.

Thanks. Though I just found:
http://moon-sport.com/product-cat.php?id=29I was searching for a strap, not a bracket. My lights are Moon GEM 2. Which they don't seem to do a replacement for. Will have to bodge something I guess.
I use one of these - free with a magazine subscription - it's a bit shit. Frequently needs recharging - no power meter - switches itself off at inopportune times - and not that bright.
On the plus side it is small and mounts easily to the front of my front rack - my Hope Vision would be just too big and heavy to mount the same way.
I bought some spare batteries - couple of quid online - and keep them charged and handy - still a faff though.
