My sister is starting a new job on Wardour Street in Soho soon. She's moving from Birmingham so thought there may be some wise words from folk on here which could help her with places to rent. I know nothing about London.
So where's nice, cheap, average price there (if there is such a thing) etc, and where to avoid at all costs....prob not too far out if possible, say 3-4 miles.

Nowhere is cheap really, certainly not anywhere that lets you get to Wardour Street particularly quickly.
Having said that, Finchley is nice and straight onto the Northern Line for Tottenham Court Road.
South East London is cheaper, but not that well connected. Dulwich and Peckham are pretty popular at the moment. Deptford bubbling under as the next big ting.
Lots of young professionals living round Stockwell, Brixton, Clapham. I don't like them personally.
Bermondsey is quite central, getting pretty expensive now though.
