So, I've realised the Pacer will actually take short-drop brakes, I thought it was medium/long drop only. I happen to have a 6600 SL front brake in the parts bin as well so I might return the R650 rear and grab a matching BR-6600 SL rear, and banish any silver parts completely (well, apart from the spokes).
Only hitch is that 6600 SL brakes seem to be like hen's teeth suddenly. Anyone got one to sell?
