^ Benjamin. I'll be heading down to Exmoor for two weeks in December on "holiday". Any advice / free time to go and smash it on the odd morning? Bit of a trek for you I know.

I'd love to do this again. I could be tempted to do it fixed/SS if others are interested....

Germain Burton rode it on 72" fixed a few years ago and ripped a few peoples legs off :D
I know a few others have ridden it on 68"

Interesting, I'm currently looking to purchase a winter bike (likely a Croix de fer build up with spare bits and retroshifters or a Canyon Inflite al). I should have it for my birthday (1st Dec) and have just been told to take some additional holiday... I could see this working out.
Lemme know your plans by DM and we'll have a look see :)

I just booked 9.04am if anyone's interested in joining, road bike obvs, not that quick. It didn't seem to generate the email I was expecting with instructions, just a PayPal receipt so I may need to chase this up...?

I did the route as far as Kidd's Hill today. It is really lovely (though I am now covered in mud). Not doing the actual ride because I can't face the humiliation of wheezing up hills in front of everyone, but happy to volunteer again if you need people.

No more than any normal rural riding. There's no off road sections or anything, but if it's wet you'll get muddy.
Last year the only thing I struggled with was the cold. Though that was my own fault for stopping briefly at the feed stop atop Ashdown before a long descent. I was properly shivering at the bottom and very thankful when the next ascent arrived.

Got a place as well. After a chat with KT I've decided to bring gears. I think of it as a late winter reward to myself.

Somehow this year we had a lot of double entries where people thought they were not in so entered again so we have kept it open now we have freed up the extra places.
