An enjoyable evening at The Emirates last night. The stewarding was atrocious. Long queues outside as too few stewards searched everyone slowly. We finally managed to get in two minutes after kick off. Many others didn't get in until 20 minutes had passed. Even then the searches were ineffective.
9,000 Chelsea supporters, even in an atmospheric black hole such as the Emirates, created constant noise.New songs, old songs, very old songs. A good laugh.
On the pitch, Mourinho showed how he can motivate and the players played their socks off. Not the best performance by a Chelsea side but Arsenal didn't put up much opposition. Essien and Mikel controlled.
Dowd was atrocious.
One Arsenal supporter sitting near the away end got very carried away just after the second goal. He exemplified the point that one should not wear distinctive clothing when sitting near the away end if one wants to lose it. Amusingly, he left, along with 50% of the home crowd, with ten minutes to go.
My elder daughter, for her sins, has a match day job at the George off Holloway Road serving Arsenal fans. She texted me to say that the pub was full five minutes before the final whistle.
Coming out of the ground was amusing as there were no Arsenal left. It was like coming out of a home game.

And then I walked home.
