Pictures as promised. I tried to show the 2 contact points to try to reply to Ramaye's question.
I cycled to get lunch, tried to get out of the saddle over Putney bridge, it moves laterally a bit less than before, which is good. No further comments so far, I'm quite happy with it! Obviously here I use a massive bag, but the lower rails allow fixing of the smaller models. -

Just noticed in the bottom left picture the strap is not where is should be, it should be just above the little hook...

Nice. I like the fact it has support underneath the bag (something I find the SQR is lacking). The bag sits very high though, it must have an effect on the ride when loaded?

No more than when I used to have it "normally" / "traditionnally" attached (top straps to the saddle loop), however I was riding yesterday with a significant load (tool kit, camera, mini D-lock, rain poncho, pump, jumper, etc...) and when riding over a bump you can feel the saddle rails bending / acting like sprungs and the leather stretching a bit. Not a nuisance to the ride as very minimal, I just hope this does not put stress to the saddle frame to the point it could fail...

So Carradice are dragging their website into, er, well, the late 1990s at least.

You need to remember where they are based, sporadic power with frequent outbreaks of plague and Luddite uprisings.
What they have works and people buying a bag made out of cottton and leather which can be a bit of a faff to fit aren't going to that site for pretty web design.

Try telling that to Stoke Newington.

Just bought the classic bagman support, which now means I have an unused uplift support of anyone needs one. It brand new and unused.

Did anyone else scratch their Carradice itch this weekend on Ebay? bakedbeanman (who has been mentioned upthread a few times) had quite a few bags for sale that ended over the weekend. They were all factory seconds. In the majority of cases the defects were really quite minor. I got trigger happy and got a matching set of Super C bags - one large and one audax to cover touring and audax duties. The total cost was the same as just buying the Super C new so a good deal. His ebay account is well worth keeping an eye on. When they arrive, I'll report back as to how minor the defects are.

The buyer might be on here now or in the future. I'd hate it to be counted twice and skew the results of our important survey.

The lady told me the website should be updated soon, but it was not the case yet when I ordered on Tuesday.
I have received the item at work this morning. Fitted it in seconds and it's on my bike now. I've been doing the straps every time for years, this is so much easier! I am very pleased with the practicallity of it, we'll see how it handles over the next few weeks. I will leave comments here.
Aestetically I'm not a massive fan of saddle bags being so high on the bike, especially since I have plenty of space, it's a big frame, however this will be an advantage as Ed said for small frames / short distance between saddle and wheel.
No time just now but will take and upload a couple of pics at lunch time.
