  • Did you make a beeline to Barnabas Road today?

  • I don't understand this pun

  • that's a tough one too

all the pictures are from green park

  • The invisible tree.

  • Shouldn't that be in names and faces?

  • Someone's recycling a polo court.

  • The invisible tree.

    That's proper good

  • The temporary D7000 cameraworld lent me whilst mine is getting it's second repair, is also faulty.
The off switch doesn't turn it off!

Top tip, avoid refurbished Nikons. They seen to be unreliable.
Can't fault the brand, had zero issues with my D40.
Might have to start saving for a D610.

  • Some pointers if possible please...

    I've got a Sony NEX5 and I'd like to get a telephoto lens, something compact and used/cheap. I've been looking a Minolta 70-210 f4.5-5.6 for about £40.

But any advice on do or don't and what else I could look out for would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello, you may remember I was starting a new job last time I posted.. it's at CCFE, the fusion research centre near Oxford - we got to go round JET today for the first time (you can only go near the machine when it's not running, and a bit of it broke recently so it's shut down now). I took some pictures, sadly only had my phone but thought you guys might like to have a look inside anyway!

Plasma heating equipment in the grey tower, tritium containment tent on top of the scaffolding (lower pressure than surroundings)

    Massive shield doors

    Emergency stop...

    Annoyingly blurry pano - link

Looking out from torus hall - note beefy crane

    Cellar under the reactor hall..

Final view from outside - it's hard to actually see the tokamak itself as it's absolutely covered in diagnostic equipment for physics experiments and plasma control

  • That's all well and good but it's not like there is rainbow in there, is it?

  • I was playing with a macro lens on my phone camera yesterday and today I decided I wanted to try with a real camera. One backwards lens, some tape, a mirror and live view, and a lot of shining a really fucking bright light directly into my eye =

I like the last one but it's pretty messed up so I guess I've found out that cheap soviet m42 lenses aren't designed to be flipped around with bright lights shining right next to them.

  • Wow. Second one is great

  • They're striking. If you can figure out a way to do the third one again without the light reflecting it would be even better.

  • Just notice Fuji released the XE-2.

Hopefully in time the XE-1 will be cheaper, hopefully.

  • ^^I did try bouncing light off mirrors a bit but it made everything harder and didn't help much

  • Site of a fatal collision on Lordship Road, N16.

  • Seems a little amped, but I really like it.

  • Hasselblad Stellar. What we saying about this digi compact, guys and girls?

  • Actually it doesn't matter. I just saw a guide price.
