Tell the police but just go about getting it back yourself. I had a similar thing happen-both my bikes nicked on a Saturday from my house then spotted one of them on eBay via bikeshd on the Wednesday. Went in and gave the police a statement. 1 month later they've done sweet FA. Thankfully I had decent insurance but I'd rather have my bikes back. Good luck with yours!
