Proper leather shoes

If Red Wings are now over priced wank (according to Pisti) who makes a good alternative work boot?

I like the look of Danner but would have to make a guess at sizing and order them from the US.

LL Bean have an awesome boot that's a bit of a Red Wing Ranger knock off that is WELL priced. States only. I'm hoping for my uncle to bring a pair back me- unless anyone here is heading there and back? (pm me innit).
