Does that not have a BSA shell?
-
• #52805
i really don't know - it can't be both, not without some horrendous adapter kit being involved. - the info is a bit thin on the ground and it's not like the folks at 14 ever answer their pissing phone, hence me boring you good people.
fuckit, i'll take it to jim tomorrow, it's what he gets paid for.

Might have a press-fit BMX BB shell?
-
• #52807
I've never really had a look at one, I guess it's possible they used a BMX shell

it's not like you ever see one WITHOUT horrendous BMX child-cranks on them... i fear you may be right.

Because what was once a good and simple site has been turned into a huge steaming pile of wank by the twelve year olds who now run the internets and who think that web sites should look like television programmes.
Please don't confuse designers and middle management 'yes' men with people who runeth thine internets.

Oh internet, I wanted just one answer. OK, winter wheels, will be 3x , have 28-32 tyres, a 10-12 kg bike and a 90kg rider. The rider may not be the most sensitive to the 'feel' of the rim, or how 'fast' the tyre rolls ect ect. I want them to be cheap and last. If they are all the same I will pick the cheapest.
Any further insight on the rims mentioned?

Any suggestions for an alternative to igoogle as it's about to be retired. I've tried netvibes and ighome but neither of them appear to have a decent world time or exchange rate widget (I want to be able to set multiple locations/ currency pairs and have them all showing at once) which I use a fair bit on igoogle.

Rigida DP18 is what you need. Very strong and reliable with 32 holes.

The Kinesis has been using Mach1 Road Runner rims for a couple of years now.

I like it. Have LoveFilm too, and find that between them I can usually find something decent. But they still don't do lots of older films, which is usually what I'm after.

Though with a 19mm external profile, it is much less suitable for 28-32mm tyres than either of the other two options suggested.

Fuck it, I'm getting the cheapest. Thanks all...and stick that consumerism.

They would do just fine with 28s. 32s however may be difficult.

New bike comes with Hollowgram SiSl cranks, but in 110 bcd. Does anyone do 53/39 rings in 110 bcd? Hopefully high end?
I was after some Q rings but I don't think they do 'em...

So I've got some Shimano A530 pedals, and on the left one, the retention has started to go weird. Even when it's set really loose, it sticks quite a bit, allowing no twist movement without quite a lot of force. Sometimes if I clip out and back in again, this helps, but like 50% of the time it sticks. Cleaning and lubing the springs etc seems to help for a bit, but only like one or two rides and the problem comes back. I don't think it's worn cleats, as they are only a bit worn, and I don't get the same problem with my other pedals (M520). Should I just replace the pedals, or is there anything else I can do? Bit disappointed as they're only a year old and Shimano stuff is usually ultra durable.

Buying stuff to update my commuter/ fixed road bike for winter.
What recommendations for a good all round winter tyre? I'll probably go for 28s for a bit of extra comfort and grip as I've got a new and longer commute with a long section of ropey cycle track. looking for the optimal combination of grip, puncture resistance and cheapness.

52 / 36 semi compact rings from praxis would get you close. I thought you could replace the spider on the SISL cranks, independently of the other components - might be the way to go.

does tester do rims? best budget rims to take a 700 x 28-32?
Grizzly, no question. They are good and cheap

Can't be arsed to check from the phone, but you can check for yourself whether Stronglight CT2 comes in that fitment. Xxcycle in France is usually the best place to get them. As previously noted, though, a spider swap is the way to go.
dst try rigida dp18
