  • Might stay cleaner on the non-drive side and still be visible from behind.

  • Good points.

Would be nice to have the option.

  • If you were a car on Skid Hill lane though, a right leg panel would be more visible than left-leg.

Clean your chain now and then ramsblood ;-)

  • fuck me, you spent long enough choosing which kind of bread to have your sandwich on, hate to see you choosing which leg to have your stripe on

  • I won't be rushed.

Anways, je suis un buyer. I would get both!

  • In all colours

  • Although I wouldn't cos I am too tight and not a buyer at all.

  • Leave Dammit out of this, he already has all the colours.

  • Euro look. Their white armband has also always been on the left arm, etc.

The thing is, Rapha is pretty far removed from what the cool Europeans are wearing - it's still all crazy flouro and patters.

  • pls link to what the cool europeans are wearing for us johnny come non euros

  • Euro look. Their white armband has also always been on the left arm, etc.

I seem to recall that they actually produced a classic jersey for the American market with the armband on the other side, so this might not be the actual answer.

  • That would be quite funny. Limey humor maybe.

My mind is bent cos they drive on the right too.

  • Went and looked at loads of sports coats today. Rapha was almost certainly the most comfortable, but that welded rear pocket is a bit naff. Tried a Paul Smith one too, which was truly lovely, but not quite as nice-fitting and had a centre vent rather than sides (shame). Not much else impressed me.

Going back to trawl more shops tomorrow but so far the Rapha jacket is genuinely the nicest, probably. And certainly not the most pricey!

  • im a non-buyer looking to buy some 3/4 length bib shorts, however, i would like to actually try them on before buying, does the rapha shop in london have a good stock? the pictures i have seen make it look more like a concept store with limited stock.

  • Got most stuff in the brewer st store, was in there today, first visit. I'm no rapha fanboy but their hard shell is meant to be the best so went to have a look. Got served by a charming woman who joined in a conversation with her colleagues about why raw carbon fibre sheet should be stored in the fridge. Proper bike dorks. I bought the jacket.

  • cheers, il have a look when i'm next in london.

  • they also offer the same bundle deals like on the website in the shop.

Try Assos's version, i have it and its a fantastic piece of kit.

If it's anything like the Osaka one, they have each item hanging up in one of each colour, usually across a range of sizes (e.g. a small red, a medium blue, a large grey, etc). You can just ask if they have X in size Y and colour Z and they'll grab it from the stock room for you to try.

I like it actually - makes for a very neat shop.

  • Makes a lot of sense too if you ask me.

  • Rapha cafe here in SF charges reasonable prices for coffee. $2.5 for a Cappuccino and it's four barrels coffee. Was pleasantly surprised. (Their clothes are still pricey though)

  • Was served by a lady this evening who was incredible helpful. Admittedly the first time I've had what I'd consider to be good service in the shop, but very good service it was.

  • 'The protective function of NanoSphere® is still retained after frequent use and numerous washing cycles and has no effect on clothing comfort, look, feel, breath ability or elasticity.'

I think this is the same coating being used on legwarmers etc by Castelli.

At £20 a pair I'll be more than happy if I get a year out of them.

I bought a pair of the trousers but was a little miffed to discover us wimmin have to pay a tenner extra. Henny way, the fit is ok where it counts and, being a shrimp, I was glad the leg length wasn't too much for me. The pockets could be deeper, but am happy with mine.

A light shower this morning showed the beading effect. Almost hoping for more rain when I head back out later.

  • I got two pairs - the grey are darker than in the pics on the website and I found the length a little short (but they'll be rolled up most of the time so not too fussed), got a pair of the navy in long leg and much happier..
