Smoothies - what recipes float your boat

  • I'm trying out raw fruit and veg smoothies and trying to get some recipes. Theres talk on the web about using alkali water but i'm to sure about that.

  • Fuck your raw fruit brah. Ice cream, peanut butter, honey/maple syrup, sea salt and banana FTW

  • Actually banana, strawberry and lime juice is pretty good.

  • As is carrot, ginger, and orange.

  • Frozen banana, strawberries, blueberries, yoghurt, handful of porridge oats and a squirt of agave syrup. Breakfast in a glass.

  • Those frozen blackberries/rasperries you can buy in the supermarket are really good for smoothies too.

    If you have one of those juicers with a spinning cheese-grater type thing so the pulp is extracted, apple, carrot and ginger is lovely, like an injection of vitamins.

  • Got to be banana, peanut butter and espresso and / or chocolate.

    Quite like the idea up ^^^^^^^ of salt too

  • Coffee, ice cream, milk, ice

  • Might sound odd but banana, orange juice, baby leaf spinach, cucumber (peeled). The spinach doesn't really impose itself on the overall taste so it's more about the OJ and banana. I might also add some flaxseed powder, wheatgrass or maca.
    Before a proper ride I go for the above but add oats, chia seeds and dates, soaking them overnight. Best to leave a decent gap between chugging this and riding as it is a meal in a stein.

  • This morning I made a smoothie with Provamel rice coconut milk, handful of baby spinach, banana, cacao nibs and some Udo's (omega) oil. The oil tastes vile but is concealed nicely when mixed into a smoothie. Substitute the milk for coconut water for hydration post-ride. You could also add chia/flax seeds, oats, protein powder (pea, hemp), spirulina, maca powder etc.

  • I had a great Kale, cucumber, mint and apple smoothie yesterday.

    I felt immediately healthier so followed it up with six pints of IPA...

  • Had a really good one at Persepolis yesterday: banana, carob & halva, with a little cinnamon on top. It rocked.

  • Sounds delightful. My favorite right now is

    ¼ coconut flour
    Half an avocado
    1 frozen banana
    Handful of spinach
    milk/water for blending (I used homemade walnut milk)
    cinnamon/nutmeg

    Top with hemp seeds, goji berries, buckwheat cereal etc.

  • Banana
    Frozen berries
    Vanilla ice cream
    Kiwi (x2, peeled)
    Ginger (chunk, unpeeled)

  • Acquired a bag of kale at the weekend - yet to decide if it has a place in the smooth
