I was just talking about this the other night. Who fucking knows. I'm fairly sure its the same people, both have good pies, but not the same menu. Weird.
Anyway - If its nice out (unlikely) express is good for sitting out front, if its shitty than regular Il Bacio is better, in my opinion. Both have great 'za and I've not really noticed much of a difference.

I prefer il bacio express, thinner pizzas there, the Il Bacio ones are too heavy.
Or head down to Lardo at the top of London Fields, proper good pizza there. Or Due Sardi in shoreditch.

Auto correct problem. Stupid software engineers.
Your pencil and paper are in the post, sir.

I now have 7 leeks in the house. Any ideas on what to do with them? Did leek and got cheese quiche last week, so that's out
So far we've done mash with sautéed leeks, served with pan fried plaice, was top drawer. Last night I did soup of potato, leek, savoy cabbage and proper sausages, well good.
More leek tonight.

Oh great food oracles.. What are the names of the good Lebanese places near Paddington that have been mentioned here before?
-
• #15457
To those in Stoke Newington .. are il bacio and bacio express the same people but two locations? If they're completely separate, where to go for pizza?
Both il Bacios on Church Street are average at best, their take-out is fine if you're hungover and can barely make it to the front door but otherwise you have no reason not to cycle to Sodo in Upper Clapton, where you will have a much better (and cheaper) pizza. Plus they have a pretty fine whisky menu. And amazing Tiramisu.

On the Stoke Newington Pizza debate, I've only been to Il Bacio, but I thought the pizza was great. My flatmate swears by Express however, and always gets takeaway from there (whilst I watch waiting for the offer of a slice - never happens).
Never heard of Sodo - will investigate!

^ Just investigated Sodo... looks very Franco Manca inspired, which is a very good thing. Is it new? Can't beleive I've not heard of it!

Went to sodo months ago. Great toppings but poor dough, didn't rate it at all. The whiskey and tiramisou though, awww yeah

Thanks mands!
I was looking for sit down Lebanese rather than a takeaway type place. It's for a mate who's looking for good, reasonably priced places to go for her office crimbo dinner near Paddington. (Need good veggie choices).

Maroush, multiple locations around Edgeware Road.

Lunch at The Ledbury yesterday, good food's still just food but you can see where these places earn their stars, every bite another OMG moment, the ambiance, the service, the little touches (not the sex kind), amazing

Went to Amsterdam last weekend and ate at Yamazato: http://www.yamazato.nl/en/
Holy shit.
We had their seasonal Hana Kaiseki menu w/ complimentary Sake menu and it was beyond incredible. I'd probably say it's the best food I've ever eaten. Would easily recommend it to anyone although the price is pretty high. It came out at about £350 for the two of us including drinks and a tip.

Haven't had that in a while, always so expensive. Isn't there anywhere you can get it cheap?

Have to say Tom, that I didn't rate Sodo that much. It could be so much better.
Has anyone eaten at Trattoria Sapori on Newington Green? Whats their pizza like?
On a more general level, best pizza ever eaten... go!
For me - best slice ever - Di Fara in Midwood, Brooklyn, NY. Any one else been there? So amazing.
Best Pie I've ever tatste - Una Pizza Neapolatna when it was in the East Village, NYC.

^ My best pizza in London has to be the first time I went to Franco Manca in Brixton, just blew my mind. Can't remember what I had, but it would have heavily featured meat. Went to Rome years ago, but can't remember much about it, so dunno what the 'authentic' ones are supposed to be like.
Haven't been toTrattoria Sapori, but heard good things.

Haven't had better base and sauce than Homeslice. Fave ever was probably their aubergine & Sriracha
