  • You shouldn't conflate out everyone being upset with everyone just pointing things out that are paranoid, facile and / or just plain dumb.

  • But yeah - everyone should carry fake IDs so that they can RLJ with impunity and be able to pull a fast one on the establishment.

    Take that, conformity!

  • Anyone other than TW2 and his worries about cornflakes?

  • Fines to who, cyclists or cyclists and drivers\?

Cyclists only as far I could tell, though I think they may have been after motoring offenders also.
Saw about six of those funny little motorbikes, whistles blowing chasing someone down as well.

  • Ha I'm glad the police are coming down on fuck wit light jumping pricks. Have had to attend to several pedestrians including children and the elderly knocked down by selfish bastards who can't wait more than 30 seconds for a light to change. Too many people don't give a shit about others in this city-just getting where they want a few seconds a head of you-get a fucking life.

  • ... And breathe.

You sound like you could do with a beer , Easts tommorow be there

  • Andy's right though. Bellends abound on london's road and some of them are on bikes and bobbing through reds. Always fucking slow as well.

  • Heard via my girlfriend that the polis are watching Theobald's Road this morning. She said they had managed to scare a girl into falling off her bike, necessitating a visit from the ambalamps.

    Good work.

  • ID checks are a real pain in the arse for me - I'm not on the electoral role partly for ideological reasons but mainly cos I move house so often.

This seems to be the main check ever done - if you don't exist on the role you don't exist.

But seems to be not hard to find out the details of someone that does and remember them verbatim.
Last time I was stopped the plod (really nice guy actually) asked to see my facebook account to confirm the details.

... I don't have a facebook account for ideological reasons
but wouldn't be too hard to set one up with the same details as above.

Of course you are now reliant on the guy whose alias you've taken is not a crook themselves, which is apparently a quarter of the population.

I know, right - The car driving bastards.

  • another good way to avoid getting asked for ID is to NOT JUMP THE SHITTING LIGHTS.

  • Wait, what? That's crazy talk.

  • I've never been asked for ID. I must look like a motherfucking angel.

  • The correct response to an ID request is, of course - Fuck you, copper, you ain't takin' me alive, you slaaaaaaaag.

    For idealogical reasons.

  • "You can have my ID, just don't touch my heroin, yeah"

  • Shit crowd ^

  • Anyone else notice the bike coppers out in force around Kennington/E&C yesterday arvo? Saw at least 3 sets of them around 1700. Some fuckwit in full fluoro riding down the wrong side of London Road ran straight through a red light amongst peds to turn right on to the blue cycle route. Motorbike coppers watched him ride through and did fuck all. One bloke further on had been pulled over just north of Kennington station (heading south). Looked like he was just getting a talking to rather than a ticket.

  • I've so far had a couple of tickets. One on the junction of leadenhall and gracechurch street, and one jumping a light on upper thames street just past blackfriars. They seem to have spread everywhere!

Each time I have been reasonable and accepted the penalty. Fortunately the first time, city of london police, I was offered a cycle awareness course instead of the fine (which was called off in the end!) and the second, met police, I paid £16 and did an incredibly idiotic and obvious online course

However...I have also spoken to the coppers about fines for motorists. For offences such as driving in cycle lanes or stopping in advance cycle lanes they should receive an on the spot fine and three points on their license. I have only ever seen tell motorists off, and that is only after they have just fined a cyclist! This feels like discrimination to me, perhaps it's less paperwork to just fine cyclists, I'm not sure....but I did take a lot of pleasure in taking this photo soon after I was fined

I now at least have some ammo on my phone to bring up if I get caught again

  • my only regret was not taking a full picture of the number plate
