Set out in torrential rain to do the worst climb in Kyoto with two buddies.

6.1km at 8.4% average, of which 3.4km are 10.6%. Fuck that thing so much. The road surface is poor and covered with debris, so coupled with the rain I went for my 32mm knobby CX wheels at ~60psi and immediately regretted that when the gradient got steep.
Absolutely sucked ass all the way up (was considerably faster my first time up there, on my road bike), then proceeded to punish myself for my climb selection and/or tyre selection and/or performance by dumping my bike on its side on some nice wet stone while riding home.
One of those days...
