  • After getting much too fat and finally admitting I don't have the time outside work to get proper rides in, I finally borrowed a turbo.

My aim is to do 45-60 mins a day once the kids are in bed.

Tonight was my 1st go.. 45 minutes alternating between - 30 seconds quite fast* and 30 seconds quite slow **

Turbo is just a basic fan model so I can't vary resistance. My plan is to see how I get on for a week or two then invest in a HRM.

I'd like to say I feel invigorated but I actually feel close to death. Am I doing it wrong ?

    • at the point where vomit was coming up.
** at the point where vomit was staying down.

Assuming you're on a geared bike. Doesnt the resistance ramp up with wheel speed.

So you can do a simple climbing session using low cadense, and a high gear. Or a sprint session using an interval timer (egg timer or whatever)

I've been running recently rather than going riding after work, or doing a turbo session when I get home, it's been really nice having a change of activity.

PE for the running is a lot higher than PE for a fairly mental turbo session however.

I only used to cycle to give my body a break from running.
