I have been thinking a lot about tubeless recently. Apparently Vittoria are going to release tubeless road tyres soon (they may have already done so, I'm not that up on this shit)
Similar thoughts .. After using Stans on the Yeti for a while I thought I'd try on the road bike now manufacturers are starting to make a choice of tyres available.
Fitted Ultremo's this weekend to Stans 340 rims .. went onto the rims without lever assistance and then bead locked with the track pump. Only one ride so far on Saturday afternoon but they seem ok .. the weight is only a little more then my usual latex inner and Veloflex Corsa combination and I say they are a bit less comfortable at the same pressure (could be the side wall construction) but hopefully should be a bit more p**cture proof for the coming months .. and stop me being sat on the side of the road ?!
