Too high?

• #52278
When I fitted aero bars to my road bike back in may, I found that when the drops were in a good position, the aerobars were uncomfortably low.
So I would like some aero bars that come up of the drop bars a bit, so it's comfortable, but stil I'm in a more aero position that I would otherise be.
make sense or is it misguided logic?

I have the same pair and I have fitted them so that the extesion sits above the stem, which feeels much better.
To be honest, this is my first time with aero bars, so I'm not sure if this is some sort of TT faux-pas, but it feels much better than when they were below the stem.

^The deda ones or the ones on the pink bike?
if the deda ones, the two pads are separate and that was the only height i could have put them without adjusting the drop bar height. Not concerned about the extensions as much as where my forearms sit

Ah, gotcha. I was referring to the Deda Clip Carbons. I'm not sure how to get around that then. Maybe post in the TT thread, you may be an answer in there.

Trying to track down a forumenger, calebs, who I bought a bike off earlier this year. He had it tagged, I foolishly didn't update the details/make note of the frame number and now it's been stolen. He hasn't logged on since July, no reply to PM and the number I had for him doesn't work anymore. Anyone know him/have any suggestions for locating him?

The 40w incandescent light bulb on my cooker hob is dead. I can't find the equvalent incandescent one but can find a 40w halogen bulb.
Is it safe to replace an incandescent bulb with a halogen one or will the heat generation be too much and present a fire risk (there is a plastic 'awning' around the top of the bulb housing)?

Wait, what?? You needs a proper LFGSS internet bikefit if you're feeling low with those bars stacked up!

I would expect a halogen bulb to have a higher light:heat output ratio for a given wattage than a plain incandescent bulb, but assuming this is in the extractor hood, how about a drop-in LED unit? (i.e. packaged with the constant current driver).

It is the extractor hood. And thanks, that sounds like a good idea.

His posts indicate that he was flying to Singapore in the summer
Would definitely do that if only I don't have to stay there for at least 6 years..!

also, has anyone got anything plastic injection moulded? any recommended companies that do prototypes?
If you want a prototype I'd suggest finding someone who can do 3d printing first stage and then for a functional prototype getting the part machined .. Possible source http://www.firstcut.eu/gb/?ls=PSGFC4_EU&awk=true

Have some allen key skewers on the Nature Boy's wheels
The wheels keep slipping.
I have some chain tugs which I can install but could I put track nuts on the skewers, to make tensioning the chain easier - It's a PITA with the allen key. -

If you want to go large - Zdrenka from this forum has just build Denmark's largest 3D printer funded by his technical university fwiw.

Which acs freewheels are ISO standard threading and not BMX sized. I've figured that crossfire is BMX only but how about Maindrive, Southpaw, Claws and Fatwheel? and apart from Fatwheel being 3/16" and the others 1/8" is there any difference?
