On strava you mean? You can change this, I've recorded rides/runs the wrong way round before and changed it afterwards. Good point about pace though...
i just got a garmin forerunner 110. is as basic as you can get but does enough for basic training.
will probably treat myself to a forerunner 220 for chrimbo though.
