• Conditions were mixed. The start was about 20 miles of lanes and tracks, and dry, then crossing Cernau (exposed moor) was boggy and windy, with no defined path. Lots of forest roads, some great singletrack in places. Some evil climbs with parts up to 30% I reckon. After it got dark we had an long climb in the rain, then crossed another moor in pissing rain. Then it got warm, then it got cold and very windy! Had some sunshine in the afternoon too. The last 30k was just awful, unrideable bog tracks and near vertical climbs which you had to lift you bike up, then step up a couple of steps then lift the bike again (fully loaded bike too).

Basically, a lot of people (sane ones) would have hated it! But the Full english breakfast sandwich provided at the end made it all worth it, plus 5 cups of tea before driving home!
