I rode the Bear Bones 200 this weekend. 210km, mostly off-road, around 17000ft of ascent, 20+ river crossings, wet feet from mile 30. I got my black badge for doing it in under 24 hours. I took 20h 32m. It was fucking hard work, but thoroughly fun, really nice group of people doing the race, lots of banter whilst riding. Started at 10am, finished at 6.32am. Which meant riding for 12 hours in the dark around mid-wales. Winning time was by Phil Simcock, 13h 08m!

Anyone who wants a real challenge should try it next year. Fuck cyclocross.
