Two nights eating in London this week have left me feeling generally a little depressed and very much lighter in the wallet. Momo off Regent St (not my choice was with mates) was good tasty basic Moroccan food but jesus £7 for a little bowl of babaganoush and £20 for a main of lamb couscous. Delicious but...
Next night up for a burger, looked at five guys couldn't face it as it looked like a cross between wimpy and sports direct, went to shake shack and had a smokeshack, nice of course but more or less what I remember a quarter pounder with cheese from Maccy D's tasting like (although its been ten years since I had one). A tenner by the time you've got some crinkle fries (good crinkle fries though).
I'm not meaning to open a debate about either of these places, I know they will have their detractors, but they left me feeling very meh.
