I still think Rhodes could prosper in the Prem. There are certain strikers who will always score when they get the service, without necessarily being more rounded RVP or Suarez type strikers. Fletcher has done well in very poor teams, Lambert helped Southampton belie the fact they were a poor team last year, and Shane Long had a couple of good seasons at WBA.
I doubt Rhodes would get into a top-half side, but for a Norwich or a West Ham he would probably be handy. Plus he's not Carlton Cole.

Wilshere is not doing himself any favours this week. He's waded into the Zanujaj debate with a statement that's been interpreted as the old "if a dog's born in a barn that doesn't make it a horse" argument.
I wonder what he makes of Berahino and Fabrice Muamba, both of whom have played for the U-21s?
Also, it's bad news for Scotland and Northern Ireland if he gets his way - it would bring an end to people playing for nations their grandparents once said they'd visited.

Muamba was raised here from a young age, Zanujaj has only been here two years. There's a distinct difference.
Also, and this seems to been have overlooked in this debate, the home nation FAs have an agreement that they won't select players who qualify through the residency route.

This thread really goes down hill during the international break.
Even the BBC don't know what to talk about as they are giving us updates about the game and it's three days away -

"I'm not going to move to Spain, stay there for 5 years, and then be Spanish" (to paraphrase).
Hasn't Zanujaj said "I want to play for Albania", he can't play for Kosovo because of it being an unrecognised state.Unless it's friendly matches.
It does touch upon identity and what you call yourself. But please, let's avoid the plastic debate.
The "English" cricket team is constructed of many players who developed in SA and Australia, and then because of their parental ties opted for England. It also helps that England are probably recognised as better in these sports than their "home" nations.
Also: what Andy P said. The home nations done has an agreement.

Re: Wilshire - he should really be better advised by those around him. He shouldn't be touching any issue where he feels the need to say things like "keep England for the English" with the proverbial barge pole.

Yeah. Agree.
Still. It's nice to know we've got a racist.
Must be how Liverpool fans feel. -

Well done Newcastle... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/exclusive-newcastle-united-lead-the-way-as-fans-pressure-forces-ticket-price-cuts-8867482.html
Hopefully this paves the way for the rest... probably only affects me, but it's excellent news (maybe pisti and Cliveo as well)
Twenty's Plenty
We got £4 knocked off the Arse tickets... down to £58... still way too high

I think what he said could have been put quite a bit better but the sentiment is right I think.
It's a real snap decision to try and persuade him to become 'English'It reminds me of the time we tried to get Arteta to gain nationality to play for England and where then thwarted by some obscure FIFA rule.
For me I would like to take advantage of the five year rule - but as things currently stand, I think all this talk is just un-necessary

The Premier League should cap ticket prices at £45 (home) and £20 (away) and only increase inline with inflation. Fat chance that will happen though.

Why? Fucking communists. You'll be advocating a salary cap next.
TS, Tony Galvin, Mark Falco, Graham Roberts.
