  • Believe me when I say I tried nearl every single helmet out there. Giro, good size selection, shoddy quality. Kask great quality and decent sizing. Met not great sizing decent quality, Lazer not great sizing decent quality, Uvex good sizing and great quality.

I currently wear a Giro prolight and a Uvex FP1, the Uvex smashes the Giro for build quality, the Giro does not feel like a £100 lid at all. Next up a Mojito.

  • When I talk about sizing, I have a 54cm head so tiny basically. Only ones that fit me well are Uvex, Giro and Kask. Met, Lazer still loose and only go to a M so no tight fit. Also LAS helmets great for fit and build quality.

  • My POC Mtb helmet feels really comfy and very robust.

Catlike whisper is also well made and fits well but I have retired my 4 year old balck one due to signs of aging, I have another white one for road use.

  • james - catlike how is it for round heads? thinking of getting one (will obviosly try one first) but would rather have some idea before making the trip

  • Seems to fit me well, but not sure what shape head I have.

  • Ah... To the shop I go then

  • Anyone know which shops in London stock Lazer? Struck out in the few I tried last time (but at least established Giros don't fit)

  • Still trying to get hold of the Giro Attack shield.

A cheaper alternative would be the Las Pista CXT. Its a track lid that claims to have decent ventilation. Probably enough ventilation for nordic roadie-ing, although its a bit of a porker. Any thoughts/experiance?

  • can anyone suggest a helmet for size 63cm? regular "large" wont fit

  • Specialised Max?

  • So I recieved an E-mail from the folk I'd ordered a black Air attack shield from. Basically they couldnt see black happening any time soon. Could I do white?
I figure white would look OK. So say go ahead. Literally 10 seconds later I get an E-mail from fatbirds advertising the fecking black.

    Dunno now.

    Do I really care?

  • Black is better. Cancel that shit and order from fatbirds!

  • My brand new Catlike Kompact o has just turned up.
    It's sooooo light.
    Very comfy too.

I'm 63 and have a Specialized S3 - The Prevail also fits. Your head shape may have a bearing though.

White helmets are way more euro and therefore better in every way.

  • Fuck. I paid 80 quid for one a month ago.

It's the hottest fuckin thing I've ever worn.

  • ^ same :(

  • I have a lazer genesis on it's way to me on crash replacement from Madison. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler.

  • POC Trabec MIPS is so comfy and gives great coverage for MTB use. Well worth the money.

This was my first though. Easier to return to the local westore if it doesnt fit though.

    Ha!
I had the same thought, and I have ordered lots of wapha. So it may complete the roadie douchag look for me.

I was recommended a Sandbox for skiing, I reckon a stripped down Legend will work for MTB use, then stripped with vents plugged for snow biking. Tempted to wear ski googles for snow biking too. So it might be a great solution.

  • just bought this for only 60 bucks

hell with the design, for a 60 it's was worth a shot

  • I like a fairly chunky helmet, such as the sort your would use for enduro type mountain biking, something a 661 recon or fox. feels a bit safer than a lightweight thing

  • Does anyone know a shop, apart from halfords, that sell the catlike whisper helmet?
