Basically make a 9mx20m dome tent. With two "tent-poles" going from corner to corner over the court.
In terms of strength and least material it's pretty much the best way... In terms of being easily dismantable not so good.

Dave Dtroll mentioned along the same lines on Monday and TS was there too, it makes sense as most balls with upwards trajectory (i.e. those which hits a wheel, bike, goal post) might clear the 6m net while having the upper 2 or 3m going inwards at a 45 degrees angle will only very likely eliminate this but at the same time use the same amount of material.

I suggested the same thing a few days before at HH while finishing off the painting.
It would also make lighting the court easier as you could hang the lights above the court not just on the sides...
If you did go this route it would also be relatively easy to replace the net with a roof, for all weather polo.

Let's be realistic, guys...
We're NEVER gonna get a roof at the HH court... We need a cheap, easily assembled (and disassembled) solution... It only needs to last a year or two, chances are that a fence/cage will be erected when HH gets the funding*...
As you were...
- A proposal (which includes lights) is actually being written up by the HHVT at this very moment...

In terms of materials, there would be significantly less (both netting and stantions) in a dome style cover.
It requires a bit more planning and design, especially to make it removable, but it's far from impossible.
Once you've got a removable frame, hanging netting or other less porous material is fairly easy.

Design it, Louis... Come to a meeting... Put your money where you're mouth is...

i LOL in the direction of those that start sentences with 'basically' and then discuss complex things.

Just spoken to an architect friend of mine, will try to get some specs in the next couple of days.
Actually have tryied a couple of engineers too...

Ok, net specs are: We have 3 seperate nets. That cover 72' x 19' (twice) 112' x 19'
Use dome tent poles along the long sides - crossed at the top, kinda like the Santiago Pavillion but with the apex pulled to the opposite side. The net is draped but structural but dynamic.
